Spearheaded by the United Way, the CA$H (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) Coalition of Onondaga County is a convener of organizations and businesses, including human services, education, business, financial institutions and government agencies dedicated to promoting financial stability and asset building opportunities for low- to moderate-income individuals and families in Onondaga County.

Focus:

The CA$H Coalition Steering Committee is proposing to take a two-pronged approach to improving financial stability by (1) facilitating the efficient sharing of important asset building strategies and resources amongst participating organizations, and (2) promoting targeted programs and projects that increase asset building, asset retention, financial literacy and improve the net worth of low- to moderate-income populations in Onondaga County.

This will be accomplished through the use of a participant listserv and periodic events designed to facilitate networking and collaboration amongst stakeholder parties. Additionally, CA$H partners will work to increase the availability of asset building services, products and programming; as well as coordinate outreach for programs, such as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), that improve economic stability and self-sufficiency for target populations.
